For years, Mark and Roseanne Izzo
brought their family to Arizona to visit Mark's mother. Coming from
Providence, Rhode Island, Phoenix was a wonderful treat in the middle of
the winter.
Then after spending 17 years as a
chimney sweep, Mark and his family decided to make the move and begin a
new life here. Lucky for us, they chose to live in the West Valley.
Desert Rose Concrete Coating has
been a family business for 18 years. And it really is...family. Working
with Mark and Roseanne are their adopted sons Louis and Lucas, Lucas'
wife Amy, and two nephews, Justin and Brandon. Roseanne and Amy
supervise the office activities and offer free estimates; while the rest
of the family takes care of the technical aspects.
Okay, so you are probably wondering
here why we mentioned the fact the sons were adopted. Mark laughs as he
explains, "I've told customers that my sons would be there to do the
job. Then when two young men show up...one 6'4" and the other shorter
and Korean, the customer doesn't know what to think."
These two young men have learned
their father's work ethics. When they set out to do a job, they do it
very well. They strive to give the customers superior service and
quality of workmanship.

Desert Rose has a slogan, "If you
have concrete, we can make it beautiful!" And most of us have lots of
concrete so why not enhance the appearance of your home?
Desert Rose can color shield
patios, walkways, driveways, pool decks and garage floors. They can
custom mix all their colors right on the job so the customers can choose
the colors that best suit them. And they have several designs to choose
from. You can also get Simulated Cool Deck or the elegant Simulated
Flagstone with UV sealer.
Desert Rose has a five-year limited
warranty. They are very confident about their work. Mark says, "We don't
take any shortcuts. We buy our coating from Arizona Polymer. Their
coating is designed to with stand extreme temperatures of Arizona
summer."
Mark warns, "It is very important
that you use a contractor who is licensed, bonded and insured.
Contractors are licensed for your protection. The Registrar of
Contractors can order licensed contractors to correct defective work,
but there is no similar recourse against unlicensed contractors who fall
outside the jurisdiction of the Registrar."
