PROCEDURE FOR TUSCANY TEXTURE
DAY ONE
1.
Rocks and grass are moved away from concrete allowing the Tuscany
Texture to flow over the sides.
2.
The surface is checked for any grease, oil, and tar which will be
removed with a thinner (xyleen).
3.
All concrete is etched with muriatic acid which will remove dirt and grime
and open the pours of the concrete for a proper bond.
4.
All concrete is treated with ammonia; this neutralizes any acid left
behind.
5.
Fill cracks on top of the surface at no charge but concrete may shift so
we cannot guarantee the cracks.
6.
A coat of acrylic additive is rolled on to seal the concrete acting as a
primer.
7.
A thin layer of acrylic aggregate is troweled on the surface to act as
another primer and first coat of texture.
8.
A heavier coat of acrylic aggregate is troweled on to make texture which
is between 1/8 and 1/4 inch think.
9.
Lastly, we clean the work area and let dry overnight.
DAY
TWO
1.
Control joints are cut with a diamond blade to open the joint to allow
movement in the stress areas.
2.
Surface is swept and blown down cleaning area for color.
3.
The house, wall and windows, etc. are taped and papered off to catch any
over spray of color.
4.
The color (s) are sprayed on the texture heavy and light giving many
shads of that color (s). Another coat will be applied if needed or if
the customer has chosen more than one color. ( There may be an extra
charge for more than one color).
5.
After all dry and clean, we brush and roll sealer to protect the surface
but not just any sealer. Desert Rose uses polyurethane 250 with UV
absorbers and hindered amine light stabilizers which will out last
acrylic sealers by years.
If
we need to make a returnable trip to move items back on the coated
surface there will be a minimum charge of $75.00. |
